San Diego Zoo!

I was just reading over my other posts and I realized that I haven't posted my pictures from the zoo like I promised!! Here they are!

This is the closest I've ever been to a peacock in my entire life. Isn't he GORGEOUS??

ALLIGATORRRRR!!

This is me doing "The Flamingo", can't you tell??

Such a ham, he was RIGHT up on the glass! Made for a nice picture of him, except the seam in the glass was in the way =/

Makin' friends!

My Zoo Partner-in-Crime, Chloe Pica!

The Tigers were hiding so I had to do some creative camera work for this one!! lol

I chased this bird around the ENTIRE aviary for close to 15 mins trying to take a picture for my dad!! He LOVES parrots and so I wanted to get him a nice picture... talk about an elusive species...

SPEEDY!! This guy is exactly the same as the turtle we used to have and his name was Speedy =]

For all of you who didn't get me a bday present, I'd like a meerkat, thanks!

Or a koala.... or BOTH!! Aren't they all so cuuuuute??

This is only the baby giraffe too!!

All in all, Chloe and I had an AMAZING day!! We got up early, packed some lunches, went to the zoo, walked the ENTIRE thing (we were there about 4 hours!!), and as we were leaving my Grandma Connie called me saying she was going up to Barona Resort and Casino and asked if I'd like to stop by tonight! So, I told her that it's on the way home from San Diego and if Chloe could come with, we'd just stop by on our way home!! So, we did that and that was totally awesome. Love me some Grandma time! Then we booked it back to Escondido just in time to hit up the last few minutes of farmer's market! We couldn't have timed it better if we tried. It was awesome.

Feels like summer

Me, being the Salinas girl that I am, think that 75 is absolutely summer weather. Well, now that I'm in San Diego county, apparently 80 is SPRING weather. I know, last summer was h-o-t, HOT. I whined and complained when it hit 90, and then died when it stayed 90+ for a month. Well, now that it's "spring" weather and 75-85 everyday, I'm loving it!! This is beautiful weather! I took my winter comforter off my bed (which always makes me happy) and I put on the beautiful, colorful summer comforter that my Grandmo gave me!

After all this talk about nice weather has made my friends here AND back in Salinas decide it's time to start planning out our summer! Considering in July almost all of my friends will be 21, the main thing on the agenda is LAS VEGAS! So, sometime this summer you'll see a post from me about Vegas =]

Another main thing on my mind-- School. This semester isn't one that I need the units from to transfer. I have over 75 units total and you only need 60 to transfer. Why am I still at community college taking classes? Here's why: (it's a looong story, readers beware). When I wen to MPC in Monterey, my first semester there I took 5 classes, 2 of which were online classes. Well, that's when I discovered that I can't do online classes, because I forget about them... whoops. So I had to drop those. So my 2nd semester there was much more successful, I took 5 classes and passed them all! But, when I went to figure out what I need to finish before transferring, I realized that I could either take 22 units in a semester or I could do it in 2 semesters. Well, 2 semesters wasn't an option considering I couldn't STAND living at home anymore. So, I did the 1 semester route. I took 5 VERY HARD classes and passed them all with flying colors!! Except......sigh.....chemistry. Now, I'm not great at science. Why I took chemistry and not Astronomy like all my other friends, I couldn't tell you. Anyway, I was positive that the teacher was speaking French or something, because I had NO clue what he was saying. So I dropped it. Which put me 2 units short of transferring.... But I still can't stand being at home! So I moved to Escondido as planned and just decided I'd take a few classes at the JC here and then transfer in the Spring. WELL, that was right about when California School's decided that they don't want to accept ANY spring transfers.... so I'm stuck here, again. I'm only taking classes to keep my insurance. Which makes it intensely hard to actually want to focus on the classes. Therefore, I am having an incredibly hard time dealing with this semester's work load because I know it doesn't really even COUNT for anything and that's annoying.

On a happier note, I am still going to Connecticut this summer (hopefully!). I just need to scrape up some money, buy a ticket and go! I COULD use some of the money I took out in a loan for Prague, and it's very tempting, but I don't think I'm going to. It has another purpose and that's what I'll use it for. I'll just have to work a lot more!

Bear (Chris) and I just celebrated our 2 year anniversary on March 23, which just so conveniently happened to fall on spring break! So, I went home for the break and hung out with him, also my friends Kaeleigh turned 21 on the 21st. So we hung out, went out for a few beers and played a little pool! All in all, it was a very fun spring break! I was happy to come back to all of my stuff and my bed and such, but not necessarily happy to be back in Escondido. I miss Bear, my family, and my friends. People here just aren't quite as open to new friendships. I've tried to hang out with my co-workers and such but they all were already friends before I moved here sooo I am kind of the left over spare. They all went to high school here and know each other. I dunno. It's just getting really hard to be away from everyone. I know it'll be hard in Prague, but at least I know that once I'm done there I'll be coming back to Salinas and going to CSUMB to be closer to everyone. Plus, I'll be so busy with new and fun stuff that I won't really have time to think about being too homesick! I plan on traveling a lot so hopefully that will keep my mind at ease =]

That's just about it for now, I'll write back later when I have more interesting stuff to say!

Study Abroad!

I am happy to report here that I have been OFFICIALLY accepted into the Prague Fall 2010 program!!!! Now, I just have to get all my last minute stuff in line (like getting a visa, registering with the Government that I'll be gone, telling my bank, and all that kind of stuff). Luckily, I already have a passport from when I went to Argentina last summer so that helps a lot! One less thing I have to worry about =]

If you want to check out the program I'm going to Prague with and all the details and such, here's the link:

You can see all the other options I had to choose from and all that good stuff!! If you want to see my program, you obviously just click on Prague, Czech Republic.

I am all too excited for this amazing adventure in my life and I think it's going to be the funnest thing I've ever done!! I plan on taking all too many pictures, traveling as often as I can, making tons of friends, checking out all the castles and amazing sights, and just having fun! Oh... and I think I'll throw some school in there too =]

Moving Along!!

In terms of the Prague escapade... things are moving along smoothly!! The advisor emailed me today saying that she received my package with all my information, so that's always a happy thing!! Now, I wait for the final word...

On another note... I'm going to Connecticut this summer before I go to Prague to visit my friend Brittany Lee for a week!! Her best friend is getting married on June 25th and she asked me to be her date!! Granted, she has a boyfriend but she apparently still wants me to go. But I mean hey, who am I to complain? I get to go back to beautiful Connecticut in the summer! I can't wait!!

This is the actual town I'll be going to! Yay!!

I'll make sure to try and keep this updated as much as I can!

OH! It was my birthday 4 days ago! I finally turned 21! I went to dinner with some friends, then had a party at my house!! On Friday, I flew up to Monterey to go wine tasting with my mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law and nephew! It was SO much fun! We took a limo and went to go do the River Road wine trail =] Poor Ayden kept asking when we were actually going to go to the birthday party, because he didn't realize that the limo ride and wine tasting actually WAS the birthday party. Everyone told him he would get it when he's older haha!

A week from today, I'm going back to Salinas for Spring Break and for Bear and my 2 year anniversary! WOW! Doesn't seem like that long, but I'm happier than I've ever been =]
